Chaos Theory

Uploaded: December 19, 2010

Description

This is a complete rework of an image posted in the way distant past. I used the title loosely as there is no universally accepted mathematical definition of chaos but it must be sensitive to the initial conditions (this is) it must be topologically mixing (this is a process) and it's periodic orbits must be dense (questionable). Out of our present chaos a new order will develop. This exercise was fun. I hope each of you sees something different. Note I did surround the chaos with order.

This was actually captured with the Canon 5D camera not the 20 D. A macro of a Lily flower, was initially processed in aperture, sent to CS3 where the colors were flipped, then the blending mode was changed to color and sent back to aperture where it was again reworked to fine tune the definition, saturation and vibrancy. Highlights and shadows were adjusted in high tones, mid contrast and low tonal width and the image was sharpened slightly. It was returned to CS3 where the liquify filter was used randomly and the black border added by changing the canvas size. Returned to Aperture and converted to B&W and tweaked the red, green and blue filters to get the zones of B&W I wanted. Your critique is always helpful. Emile #1336992

WOW! You did an amazing job with this one Emile! I feel worn out just reading about your effort with this one!

Never the less is is an amazing image with supreme B&W tones, and the frame enhances the whole vision!

I see turbulent motion, but the chaos is well organised and presented! Excellent work, my friend! #9114878

Wonderful treatment, Emile! It drew me in right away, and my eye wanders through the image, exploring all the chaos with a smile. Well done!! #9114960

Hi guys (John, Stan and Bobby) and Carol. I was a bit reluctant to post this but was again trying to stretch the limits of convention, be a bit creative and expand my scope of artistic development. Thanks for the comments they are appreciated. Still working on several self published books that are moving along well. I am now only working 3 days a week which really helps with my photography. Have a nice holiday season my friends. #9115012
