Doe Baby at Christmas-Portrait Mode/Rule of Thirds

Uploaded: December 18, 2010

Description

Wow! I worked hard on portraits. Tried my first in the dunes, lugging my stuff and my business partner out through the sand. Models can be very uncooperative and unpleasant! Then I went through a session with one of my dogs, then started in on the cats. Since I wanted to invoke the Rule of Thirds straight out of the camera, I tried three sessions with one cat, and then switched to Doe Baby and got this on session 3. Good thing, I only had one cat left! I did set a custom white balance for the indoor shots, and I am very pleased with the results. And I eventually rigged two clamp-on lights to bar stools in front of the Christmas tree and aimed them on her face. If I had put the lights a bit lower I could have prevented the shadow under her upper eyelid.

Exif: F Number: 4, Exposure Bias Value: -0.67, ExposureTime: 1/125 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 400, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 50.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS REBEL T1i
