Texter on South Street

Returning to the "Sean's Philadelphia" tour...
-----
This is South Street, probably the most colorful street I've ever traversed. Home of the amazing Magic Garden, a 4400 square foot house that is a fantasy world of mosaic tiles and weird objects (many too risque to show on BP) the tile motiff has spread through the entire street.
---
I prefer a more monotone version of this shot (shown in the discussion area), but this one gives a glimpse of the color of South Street.

stunning, a winner, fantastic capture and DD work... #9104873Joyce S. Court December 15, 2010
These mosaics are fascinating. Makes me wonder who and how they were motivated to design these. But in this one I see "South Street Loves People". #9104892Ron McEwan December 15, 2010
LOL that was the first this I noticed was the girl. Of course I did not grow up in the texting world. This image says a lot Michelle, well composed and presented. #9104898Monnie Ryan December 15, 2010
Very cool capture, Michelle! #9104958Rony Sagy December 15, 2010
Was he texting to the girl? IN any event this is a wonderful capture. I love both images, the one in color and the B&W. Having seen your captures and description of South Street, I feel I must go there. I might wait until it gets a bit warmer in that part of the world. #9105140Jack Ryan December 15, 2010

This is such a great shot Michelle and I think the colors work really well here. I also like the B&W too. The mosaic is very interesting...must be a pretty neat place to do a shoot. #9107922Ann Coates December 15, 2010
What did we do with our lives before cellphones came along. I'm sure life was not so stressful then. This is a terrific capture of what is now surely one of the most common sights around our streets today. #9108000Barbara Waldoch December 15, 2010
Both versions look excellent, Michelle! #9108022Renee Doyle December 15, 2010
I agree - both are awesome in their own right Michelle!!! and the mosaic tiling is incredible and wonderful!!! All great captures! #9108039Paul E. Earl December 16, 2010
Terrific work, Michele! Great capture of street life!! #9108159Rona L. Schwarz December 16, 2010
Another wonderful street capture from Sean's Philly Tour, Michelle! The color version really gives a great feel to the colorful and fanciful nature of the street, but I actually prefer the more monotone version like you, which imparts a more grungy, hip feeling. Both are great! And the mosaics are amazing! #9109863Brett Dolsen December 17, 2010
Wonderfull street scene and vertical composition Michelle! #9110503ALLEN O. HOWARD December 17, 2010
Either one is terrific! The composition is great and "every picture tells a story don't it?" #9112025Kate Jackson December 18, 2010
I agree I love the feel of "more mono" version! #9112456Kay Beausoleil December 20, 2010
Both versions have an odd charm, but I slightly prefer the colour image -- all the blues add a layer of interest. Great work either way, Michelle! #9116316Lonnie M. Scott December 23, 2010
If thar girl was walking past me...I sure would't be looking at my friggin telephone!!! #9122207Hanah Hill January 08, 2011
