What a sad sad commentary on our world today

A beautiful girl walks by and this young man seems more enhtralled with his phone

Unless he is loading her bottom onto Utube ;0)

Awesome Mickey!! #9104683

These mosaics are fascinating. Makes me wonder who and how they were motivated to design these. But in this one I see "South Street Loves People". #9104892

Ron McEwan 12/15/2010 5:33:25 AM

LOL that was the first this I noticed was the girl. Of course I did not grow up in the texting world. This image says a lot Michelle, well composed and presented. #9104898

Rony Sagy 12/15/2010 7:23:48 AM

Was he texting to the girl? IN any event this is a wonderful capture. I love both images, the one in color and the B&W. Having seen your captures and description of South Street, I feel I must go there. I might wait until it gets a bit warmer in that part of the world. #9105140

This is such a great shot Michelle and I think the colors work really well here. I also like the B&W too. The mosaic is very interesting...must be a pretty neat place to do a shoot. #9107922

What did we do with our lives before cellphones came along. I'm sure life was not so stressful then. This is a terrific capture of what is now surely one of the most common sights around our streets today. #9108000

Barbara Waldoch 12/15/2010 10:08:23 PM

Both versions look excellent, Michelle! #9108022

Renee Doyle 12/15/2010 10:29:22 PM

Rona L. Schwarz 12/16/2010 4:28:53 PM

Another wonderful street capture from Sean's Philly Tour, Michelle! The color version really gives a great feel to the colorful and fanciful nature of the street, but I actually prefer the more monotone version like you, which imparts a more grungy, hip feeling. Both are great! And the mosaics are amazing! #9109863

Brett Dolsen 12/17/2010 2:23:19 AM

Wonderfull street scene and vertical composition Michelle! #9110503

ALLEN O. HOWARD 12/17/2010 5:58:20 PM

Either one is terrific! The composition is great and "every picture tells a story don't it?" #9112025

Kate Jackson 12/18/2010 12:51:11 AM

I agree I love the feel of "more mono" version! #9112456

Kay Beausoleil 12/20/2010 10:57:59 AM

Both versions have an odd charm, but I slightly prefer the colour image -- all the blues add a layer of interest. Great work either way, Michelle! #9116316

Lonnie M. Scott 12/23/2010 5:26:47 PM

If thar girl was walking past me...I sure would't be looking at my friggin telephone!!! #9122207

Returning to the "Sean's Philadelphia" tour...
This is South Street, probably the most colorful street I've ever traversed. Home of the amazing Magic Garden, a 4400 square foot house that is a fantasy world of mosaic tiles and weird objects (many too risque to show on BP) the tile motiff has spread through the entire street.
I prefer a more monotone version of this shot (shown in the discussion area), but this one gives a glimpse of the color of South Street.
