Thanks! Already I'm seeing things I would do different, but that's OK, I'll keep experimenting. This one was fun! #9092017

That is really cool. #9096657

Thanks Ruth! I'm just wondering if the current control wall in the water in the upper left is distracting. It was THERE but I couldn't frame around it. I suppose I could have removed it in this particular image since it's a blatant digital edit, lol! #9107719

I didn't notice it because my eye was drawn to the center as intended. It might be better without it, but you would have to change the water color too. I don't know. #9107828

Thanks UB! I was a bit surprised it even got picked. Now I wish I spent a little more time doing the effect.

Thanks folks! I really didn't expect to see this one get a Finalist. I was happy it gained an EP, lol!

Hey Ruth, I guess the current control wall in the water wasn't too distracting afterall... #9178427

Ruth Robbins 1/19/2011 8:46:12 PM

you could even say it adds balance and keeps the image from being too weghted to the lower right. :-D #9178595

Description

I've been fascinated by the tilt-shift lenses that can make only a part of an image in focus, and make it look toy-like. SO, I dug into Photoshop to try and reproduce the effect. This shot, taken up in the Hancock Tower in Chicago, seemed to be a good specimen to experiment on.

Canon 17-40mm, handheld.
