Jerusalem - The Dormition Abbey
Description: Atop King David's Tomb in Jerusalem, Israel, is the last supper room and the Franciscan Monastery, the Dormition Abbey. Unlike King David, who in all likelihood was buried in David City - not on Mount Zion - Oskar Schindler is buried here.
In 1524, the Ottoman ruler, Sulieman the Magnificent, seized control of the whole complex of vaulted passages and buildings, called it al-Nabi Da'ud (the Prophet David), and partly modified it for use as a mosque.
f/5.6,24mm, HDR. November 13, 2010.
And the sky? It really looked inconsistently angry. The HDR process made it look even worse. I thought that replacing it with a nice calm and even sky would not do justice to the place. So I settled for some painted effect on the real image.
