First, I put it into PS and used the healing brush to just correct a few of the very worst completely blown out areas. Then I put it back into LR and used the neutral density filter button to darken the sky. Then, I wanted to retain the dark graveyard look, but needed to lighten the landscape without lightening the sky--so I increased the saturation and luminance of just the oranges, yellows and reds, and used the brightening brush to lighten just the key tombstones.
