Dolly, Dolly-Doo or Just "Bobby"

Uploaded: October 17, 2010

Description

Using the word reflect as a verb: to think, ponder, or meditate...reflecting on all our happy years with our sweet Flat Coat Retriever Dolly...but somehow we started calling her Bobby when she was little and it just stuck, but she'd answer to either name.
Here Bobby (or Dolly) is just days before she left us having a last good roll in the leaves...we always called her our Velcro-Baby because the leaves would always stick all over her soft fur, just like Velcro...Good memories to "reflect" on and glad that they last a lifetime and beyond!

Here it is again...but with the date corrected ~ Thank you for pointing out the error to me. She was almost 15 years old. Our Golden Retriever lived to almost 12, but she was a record breaker...Love and miss them both - never think we'd get so attached to our puppies but losing them was like losing part of the family. Many happy, fun memories of our pups though and that's what counts the most! #1318664

Susan,

I'm so very sorry for the loss of your're beautiful and wonderfully gray muzzled FCR. Her eyes and face reveal the wisdom gained through the years of being a typically happy-go-lucky and sometimes goofy Flat Coat Retriever. Been through it too many times myself and know how much of our lives they can become.

Bless you,

Dave Shannon

She's beautiful, Susan. I am glad that you made this great image of her for everyone to see. And the sentiments are great as well. I hope my golden lives to 12 years. I don't think of him as a dog, but as a friend. I still miss my other two goldens: Rosie and Sherman. I regret that I don't have any good pictures of Rosie but that was pretty much before my love affair with digital. Thank you for sharing with us. #8983885

Our Teagan (my pic) will be 20 on the 31st of this month. We are torturing her again with this LONG trip. However she is resigned, and when she speaks.. we stop. Might take us forever to get to Padre. This long prologue is to simply say I totally understand. Teagie probably does not have a long time with us... I dread the day.

Wonderful memory of your beautiful Bobby! Thank you so much for reminding me that I must quit denying the inevitable and capture my own memories of Teagan. #8984199
