Crikey! What a story telling image Barbara! The perfect image for selective coloring, and you did a great job with this one!
When are the aftershocks going to stop over there, you last one enven made the TV news over here last night! #1319235

Thank you John - it was a magnitude of 5.1 but had more of a punch behind it apparently over 500 tonnes - it certainly knocked our building about a bit at work but we are all safe and sound - apparently we can expect this to happen every now and again for up to a year. It does mean that anything which is slightly unstable now is likely to be dislodged in the future. It was unnerving I had to visit a shopping mall to do my banking and most of the shops were closed - a very eerie feel and folk were very unsettled.

This image was taken in London John - 100 Parliament Street, I apologise I should have stated so. I have another one of the guy behind the bike, I think it is a fantastic idea !!! #8984826

Maybe we need to have cycle ambulances over here, cut down on the health budget, ha! This is terrific Barbara. Never seen such a thing. Your selective colouring is perfect. Wonderful work. #8987818

I was meant to say I was at the mall when that 5 struck the other day. That was scary. The noise of all the glassware shaking was incredible. The checkout operator used a well known swear word. Certainly was unnerving. #8987832

I've never even seen that!!! I guess I can't say well spotted as you would have to be blind not to spot it. But it makes a great shot. I do kind of recognise the grey colour of the stonework though and to me it doesn't look like selective colouring especially with that little red square still on the stonework behind the bike. So sorry to hear you are still suffering from shocks and hope that your buildings all remain intact.
Don't bother looking to see if I have entered anything. I am finding it hard to get back into the habit but I will! #8990845

I see on TV last week that they are using ambulance motor bikes, as they can get around the busy inner city & to accident sites much quicker. Great idea!! Good find with this one=^..^= #8993658

What a great idea, Barbara...and superb capture of this bicycle 'ambulance' in London!! :o)

As Chris mentioned, we have motor bikes to do the job in Sydney:

"RRVs (Rapid Response Vehicles) operate across the Sydney metropolitan area. They are not attached to any particular station but instead move within certain areas, according to the demand."

Refer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ambulance_Service_of_New_South_Wales

A similar programme is promised for Melbourne next year, by the Victorian Liberals if they get into government at the election on the 27th of this month:

"The six vehicle dedicated motorcycle paramedic unit, which will be able to respond rapidly to emergencies in and around inner Melbourne, will commence operation in 2011...

"Operating in New South Wales (since 1993), the United Kingdom (since 1991), the Netherlands (since 1997) and Hong Kong (since 1982), motorcycle paramedics are effective in built-up areas for rapid responses to emergencies, able to navigate heavy traffic faster than a regular emergency vehicle.

"The solo motorcycle paramedic or first responder ability can increase patient survival rates by reaching patients quickly to provide life-saving treatment and support, while an ambulance is on the way.

"Average response times of motorcycle paramedics in Sydney have been reduced to as little as 3.5 minutes. In Victoria, ambulances seek to meet 15 minute response time targets."
