Cicada Molting Process - Image #8

Uploaded: September 18, 2010

Description

A little over a month ago I got to watch several cicadas go through the molting process.
These images probably won't win any awards, but I found the process very interesting so I took many shots.

The eighth image I like to call "Maturing". The wings on this cicada are now dry enough to fold back after molting and it is turning darker in color.

:-)
