His statue graces the lawn in front of the Free Public Library of Philadelphia, near Logan Square.

Born in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, Galusha Pennypacker, a fifth cousin of General George Custer, is the youngest person to hold the rank of
Brigadier General in the U.S. Army, at age 20. He served in the Pennsylvania Infantry in the Civil war and died in Philadelphia in 1916.

Michelle- His statue makes him look like he could eat cannon balls and spit thunder. The look goes so well with the whole picture. With that sky, it has such a poverful, put the fear of God into you look. Love the composition and the way you brought the library with its columns and arches into it. The black and white has a way to give it such a dramatic scene. Gorgeous work my friend.
