Twilight, Cincinnati Style
Uploaded: July 27, 2010
When you drive I-71/75 North through Northern Kentucky, you come over a rise and the whole Cincy skyline appears before you. Last October I knew I'd be driving that way about twilight, so I had my 70-200mm/2.8 already mounted on my tripod, laying on the back seat of the van. As soon as I came over the top, this is what I saw, purple sky and all. I quickly setup the tripod on the shoulder (passing trucks at 75mph are loud!) and took several images, this one at f/14, 200mm, 20 seconds, single image, no HDR. I did do some dodging to open up some of the shadowy areas. Notice on the left, you'll see the empty football stadium... the Bengals had lost a heartbreaker a few hours earlier, so the stadium lights were still on.
(I may have to re-upload this, the image looks very soft, nothing like the original. Hmmm...)
