Description: The most important battle in the history of the modern world centered here at a little place called Nielson's Farm in Saratoga, NY.
Had it not been for the American victory over the British here back in the 1700's there would be no USA. Because of this victory, France and Spain declared war on England and allied with the fledgling Congress of the United States of America. Because of these events, a rag-bag collection of farmers and villagers beat the most powerful army in history and formed a totally new form of government that changed the world.
Nielson, however, didn't actually have any part of this battle... he was off attached to a competely different regiment in another place. His farm suffered severe damage for which the Continental Congress never reimbursed him. Oh well :D Saratoga National Battlefield Park, Saratoga County, NY. (*T&P*)
