Wonderful use of technique to create this impressionistic shot, Carolina. The soft colors, shadows, and lighting are lovely! #281020

Thank you very much, Carol and Mel.
I was very surprised and taken by this when I opened it up in Nikon View. And it took a lot of restraint to NOT sharpen the image, since I am so used to sharpening ... lol! Thank you again. #1611644

This is a great image for multiple reasons. First, having the audacity to try different techniques is a sign of a good photographer. Second, the impressionist effect gives the observer more to look into. It forces you to stop, look and finally see some subtleties that you would have not seen otherwise. Third, the composition of this image is very good even if the main subject is somewhat centered. The symmetry of the image plus the foundation of the trunk and shadows anchor this image very well. #1681617

Thank you, Andre, for your very kind comments. Even with digital, there can still be the element of surprise when you open an image up to look at it :) And I do, indeed, love to experiment sometimes! #1685787
