O.K. - What's your secret for getting an image so sharp with so much action? Lens or camera? #8768598

Bill Johnson July 17, 2010

Charlotte, Both the lens and camera are part of it. The lens is 100-400 canon zoom and the camera is also the 1dmark IV. I shot this at f 5.6 with a shutter speed of 1/1600. The focus is AI focus. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. #8769811

Bill - Love this image. It's one of my favorite photos of people. Hope it's a winner! #8841099

Bill Johnson August 17, 2010

Thanks Charlotte, The winners are out for this month and this one didn't advance. Thanks for your support. #8844225

Charlotte LaBarbera August 19, 2010

Bummer! I'm noticing that most "people" winners are usually more portrait looking vs. action or decisive moment. However, the first place winner this month was an action shot. I tend to favor these kind of images. #8848241

Bill Johnson August 19, 2010

Thanks. Yes I've noticed that too. Sports shorts rarely get beyond the finalist level. #8848438

Bill Johnson August 19, 2010

Nor do sports SHOTs either. :) #8848522

Charlotte LaBarbera August 19, 2010

I am laughing out loud - at your sense of humor. I completely missed the sports shorts. #8848570
