~ ROCK FORMATIONS ~
Uploaded: June 30, 2010
HAVE A SUPER DAY!!!
....Of Monument Rocks
located in Gove County, Kansas.
The unusual formations was caused by erosion that carved these chalk pyramids from what was once the floor of a vast inland sea. This site is the first natural landmark chosen by the US Dept. of the Interior as a National Natural Landmark.
I decided to include another image
to my series of Monument Rocks that I posted back in April and enter it in this months theme of unusual shapes...as these rocks do have many different and unusual shapes...changing almost daily due to weather and erosion.
