~Blue-winged Teal~
Leonabelle Turner Birding Center
Port Aransas, TX

Never saw a duck like this before and wondered why they were called a blue-winged teal when there didn't seem to be any blue present on their wings...until he took off - the beautiful powder blue patches on the wing area are only visible in flight.
