Just getting to that flower and nectar...basic and simple pursuits....A checkered white butterfly caught in midair, wings in the closed position..I purposely set out for an attempt at a mid-flight capture but in 35 years of shooting butterflies, this is the first time I caught one sailing along with the wings closed. Just a freaky nanosecond of pure unadulterated luck with the push of the shutter release!

Congratulations all May Finalists!
