About Kathy Williams-Walkup
Photography runs in my family. My dad was a professional and also my two brothers. They had 2 studios in the area where I live. I was not really interested myself although I did enjoy taking pictures. My parents bought me a Nikon 35mm, which I still have. I now have a Nikon D50 and D3000. I also carry a Nikon Coolpix L120 where ever I go.
I have been married for 38 years to a wonderful guy and have a son and a daughter. My daughter and son-in-law have a 6 year old daughter that I love to photograph. Her photos are in my gallery. I retired from the State of Missouri after 26 years and now work on my photographic skills and care for my granddaughter before and after school. I also have a lab mix and a yorkie but have yet to put their photos up. Landscapes are a favorite.
I have learned alot from BetterPhoto's website and hope to learn more. Two of my inspirations have been Mike Perez and Jill Garl. They have inspired me to learn photo painting. Their work is beautiful. I took a photo painting class from Jill and love painting!
