Nikon D200

looking to buy a nikon d200. has anyone dealt with TCSCAMERA.COM, BESTPRICECAMERAS.COM,EXPRESSCAMERAS.COM,and RADIOACTIVEDEALS.COM at all and if so what quality of service did you receive?

Their prices on the Nikon D200 are from $200-$600 less from other camera stores
(some that I am very familiar with). What camera store would you suggest?

thanks

I for one would never purchase something that expensive online. if it sounds to good to be true then it probably is. I would purchase one from ritz or wolf camera and opt to get their warranty that covers whatever you buy against everything except theft so if you or anyone drops the camera or you get mad and kick it. as long as you can take the camera back to a ritz camera store they will fix or replace free of charge. the warranty on a camera that price will be a couple hundred dollars but it is piece of mind.

  Kathy,
It looks like you've been searching for camera stores at BADcustomerservice.com! ;-)

Check these links for reviews at www.resellerratings.com on these stores:

TCS Camera

BestPrice Camera

RadioActive Deals

Express Cameras

BestPrice and Express have more history (meaning they have screwed more people), but TCS Camera's lifetime rating of 0.00 out of 10 is quite impressive!

ALL of these companies, and many similar ones, follow the same general tactic: They advertise really low prices for "body only" cameras, and impressive-looking packages. If you place an order, you'll get a call or an email instructing you to call to "confirm your order". Then you'll get a HARD SELL on expensive accessories. You'll find that the "body only" price does NOT include the things that Canon or Nikon normally includes in the box, like the battery, battery charger, Manual in English, and US Warranty. NONE of these companies are authorized resellers of the cameras they sell. Many of these companies operate under multiple names (to increase their hits from Google). Who knows, they may all be operating out of the same garage.

Read THIS THREAD for some more eye-opening info.

Stick with a site with a GOOD reputation, like www.bhphoto.com - you won't regret it.

Chris

The price from Adorama will probably be the same as the price from B&H and you will get good service. About the only difference I have encountered between the two is that shipping from B&H is less expensive.
