How to work my Yashica Fx-1 Hi, I just bought a Yashica Fx-1, it was at a flea market and it didn't come with a manual. I have no clue how to run it, it's so different from my Pentax K-1000. I figured out it needed a battery to run, but even with that, I can't get the thing to budge in any matter, to advance the film ect. Can you help me figure out this camera, where could I get a manual for it? Thanks for any help.

Try manuals2go.com. He'll send you one as a pdf file or mail it on a CD. Let a camera shop have a look at it, though, before you spend any money. An overhaul and repair, if needed, will be about $150. If you can get it to work, it can use Contax lenses, among the very best in the world. They're not the cheapest, though. The 50-mm f1.7 is a good buy. If it has a Contax lens on it, and the camera is shot, look for another Yashica or buy a new or used Contax Aria. Or sell the lens on eBay and put the money toward a new camera.
