Film Processing Tmes?

Hi-

I haven't processed my own negatives in quite some time and I forgot how long to develop them in the different chemicals. I usually use Ilford HP5 Plus 400 or a Kodak equivalant. I will develop at 68 degrees. I also will be using HC-110 developer. Also, what is the reason for preparing working solutions from stock solution and preparing working solutions from concentrate?

Any input would be great. Thanks***

You will see development times inside the film box. You can also go the the film maker's web site and print out a data sheet that will tell you the times with various developers.

If you are the non-pro occasional film developer as I am, the stock solution would deteriorate before we would use it all. By mixing a working solution from concentrate each time, you probably waste less. We'd love to see what you're turning out.

Thanks Doug- I would love to show my work and get some input, put I don't have a computer or printer available at home. Is there any other place to download an image? Also, I went to Ilford's web sight before I wrote and I couldn't find the developing. times. Unfortunately I threw away all my film boxes to save space in my backpack, so I don't have that either.

  There's a spec sheet on HP 5 at http://www.ilford.com/html/us_english/pdf/HP5_Plus.pdf

You could scan your prints on a flatbed scanner. Then be sure the computer that's hooked up to it has an imaging program like Elements. Make your scan into a JPEG image with the imaging program. See my web page for how to scan the print and to make it a JPEG.

Photography consists greatly of one problem-solving exercise after another. You're beginning to see that, but hang with it.

Thanks again, Doug. I did find the processing times at the sight you gave me. All the info is overwhelming but informative.
