Lack of Support for iPAD

I would like to be able to manage my deluxe site with my iPAD. I cannot even do some simple maintenance as adding a new category and selecting a photo. I have sent email to BetterPhoto to try to understand their commitment to supporting this platform and have not received a straight forward reply. I am a professional software tester and offered my services in trade for helping them out. Am I alone in my frustration of BP keeping up with current technologies such as iPAD and offering a sharing app and being iOS compatible. Similarly I have been frustrated with lack of an upload plugin to Lightroom. I feel that the price paid for website hosting as well as the lack of new features is starting to have me question my commitment to subscribing once I finish my current subscription.

Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that BP has kept up with recent technology concepts, particularly mobile platforms.

Nor does it seem to be something they are pursuing. (I should say, the lack of any BP communication to the membership, about new development, would reasonably suggest no such development is being pursued.)

Whether still in the slumps / running a skeleton crew from the economic downturn, or just riding the status quo of their pre-existing service model, there appears to be no active development for new platform functionality (nor even updates/improvements/refreshes to the existing site.)

As such, BP remains a platform best suited to computer-based browsers.

I agree. I am disappointed in the lack of change in the model and keeping up with technology. I enjoy the community and the contest. I am planning on downgrading my deluxe membership to basic when it expires and am planning to use the money I save for customization of my smugmug account.

  Hi Ilene-

ipad or kindle browsers can navigate your admin center with their web browsers. We don't have a dedicated site management app though. Uploading from mobile devices however is something we're looking at and want to add.

Thanks for your response Jay. I usually only travel on weekends with my iPad. I want to be able to share the photos I've taken as well as to be able to enter the contest with newly taken photos. Now, I have to queue the photos up in my admin center to be able to enter them in a contest with my iPad. The iPad has been out for 2 full years at this point and is the most used portable device. I would like to see BetterPhoto trying to stay or lead rather than to play very late catch up. As I also posted before in a different thread, the lack of a plugin for Lightroom to allow for uploading photos seemlessly into BP is sorely lacking. LR 4 will be coming out and is the most used photo management system by photographers. Once again I enjoy the community here but the lack of keeping up with current trends and no innovation with the site, leads to my frustration.

Jay, I just went to the admin center and there are several functions not supported by the Safari browser such as Update Category Sort Order. I hope you can ake the entire admin center iPad compatible.
