Pat, what a sweet baby. Can't believe she slept through it all :) I really prefer the Sleeping Beauty shot because of the composition. Rose Petals is nice as well, but I think it could be cropped from the top. Also for consideration, the petals seem to "staged", I would like to see them look more randomly placed. The lighting, color, and focus are very good! I think I'll go visit your gallery now and see what other portraits you have to share!

Thanks Kristian and Susan for your comments. I agree with your comment on the petals, in fact I 've been adding a few random ones in photoshop. My original position had them scattered, but when I repositioned the baby (no she didn't sleep thru it all :)!!), the mother placed the petals like that. That's one thing I have to learn is to slow down and re-examine the scene one more time. Ther's so much to learn, but I'm having fun trying!

I really like the Sleeping Beauty. What is it that she is sleeping on? It looks nice and cumfy.

Thanks for your comments. Walmart has some brushed chenelle (sp) that comes in white, pink or lt blue. It IS very soft and plush. I think thats why this baby just curled up to sleep. Try it out.

So is it more like a rug or does it come on a bolt of material? Maybe it's a blanket? I'm interested because I have a newborn that has just been adopted to photograph as soon as he comes home. I would love to do something to this effect. Thanks!

Betty the material comes on a bolt in the craft dept, they also sell pillows already made from that fabric. Pat the photos are so adorable!! did you just drape the fabric over a pillow? I love those shots, wish I had a babt to do pictures of.

Thanks, Daniel and Brenda. The fabric is on the bolt in their material/craft dept. They are the only ones I've seen with it. I draped it over a small beanbag chair. It seems to conform to the baby better than a pillow. I was afraid she would roll off the pillow I had.
