Can You Stack Teleconverters This sounds like a silly question. Can you stack 2X teleconverters on one another - like you can with a set of extension tubes - but only for long-distance shots. Just wondering. Thanks for all your help.

Generally, yes, but it depends on the specific teleconverters.

Yes, in most cases it is possible. But the subsequent loss of light will result in the need to use a much larger aperture and a faster shutter speed. The quality of the image will most likely be greatly compromised.

Sam: Some brands do not allow you to stack them. Like Canon EF for example. You mechanically cannot do so, unless you use an extension tube between the two converters. That trick works but then you lose infinity focus. Not a problem for nearby subjects. Also, very few lenses provide ideal quality with two teleconverters, especially affordable lenses with affordable converters. Cheers! Peter
