31 .  How do I upload my assignments for D90 class
I can't access campus square to upload my assignment for the Nikon D90 class with Simon Stafford. I saw someone else ask the question but I could find no button on the left side to get into campus square.
I need help.

  Hi Cyndi,
Sorry that you had trouble getting into Campus Square. Below is a rundown. If you have any further questions, feel free to email me directly: kerry@betterphoto.com

Thanks,
Kerry

How to get to your course (Campus Square):

In your Member Center, click on the My Courses tab. Then, when the next page displays, click on the course link under the "Your Campus Squares" header. You'll then be in Campus Square!

Then, click on the Photos tab and when that page displays, click on the Upload New Photos link. Along with other uploading options, you'll be able to choose the particular assignment for uploading.

Also, in Campus Square, you'll see the Q&A for the class.

Have fun!

You can check this out for starters to narrow it down, and the better photo team will help you decide too based on your goals / skill level.

hope that helps
Pam :)

  Hi Jane,
Excellent question, and an excellent answer from Pam, too!

I'm an instructor and also BP's Course Advisor. Jane, in addition to the course calculator that Pam mentioned, here are a few classes that you might want to consider:

Composition - The Essentials

Techniques of Natural Light Photography

Understanding Digital Photography: Beyond the Basics

Hope this helps, Jane, but feel free to follow-up here ... or via email - kerry@betterphoto.com

Thanks!

Kerry

P.S. to Pam: Thanks for your input!

  33 .  Expiring MVBP award
My latest award will expire in a week and there are no spots available in a class that would be appropriate for my skill level. Is there anyway to get an extension on this award. I hate to lose it. Thanks

Sorry, Brian - my brain is having a dumber-than-dirt Day. Gosh, I almost missed that the 2-fer includes the Basic Account!

I just renewed in April (expiring 4/3/11), but if this means I can extend my Basic for another $49 so that it will expire on April 3, 2013 (2 years instead of 1) - I'll do it. Unbelievably great deal!!!!

Should I wait for the Special to actually go into effect (it doesn't look like it is yet) or do it now (and BP will adjust the expiration date)?

Thanks, Brian (and Thank You, BP!!!!)

35 .  Photo Gallery - Best in Class
I recently won a photo gallery for Best in Class. I can only find this when I use the link emailed to me:

http://www.betterphoto.com/gallery/dynoGall2.asp?catID=40125

How would I find it from the BP website?

Also, I would like to upload other photos into this gallery. Is that possible, and how would I do that?

  39 .  Creating Storytelling Photos
Has anyone ever taken the class Creating Storytelling Photos? It got only one review which was pretty negative, but it looks like a good class. I would like to know how others who have taken the class felt about it.

I took the class and learned a couple of good/important lessons about an approach to photography that I still use.

The class may have changed a bit since I took it because some of the "Key Features" have changed. (I will have to see if my "Campus Square" has updated lessons in it.)

This is one course that you really have to work at -- not that you don't have to work at any or all classes.

I found that I really had to plan my work for each weeks lesson -- you will do several 'story telling' photos for each lesson -- so it takes perhaps a little more work than most courses.

It took me a couple of lessons to "get" what story telling is (not for lack of adequate explanation by Rob; his lessons are fairly straightforward) but once I did, it gave me an additional tool when preparing for a photo outing.

Just taking it now...Rob is terrific. His critiques are sensitive and extremely helpful but it is a concept you have to work on to fully understand. Ask questions, express confusion, think about the answers you get....try! I have learned more from what did not work than what has though both are important. It has become a progressive dialogue in which I am learning what "image story" really is. Well worth both the time and struggle to understand!!

I agree with both RKS and Sharon. overall a fantastic course. But it's not like the other types of photo courses. It's not about a pretty photo, or lines/colors/shapes. There's no rules of thumb, no guidelines per se, just some key concepts.

I signed up for the course because I love street / documentary photography, and wanted to learn more about it. For me, the course was very difficult and challenging (in a good way). If Rob ever offers a level 2 course, I'd sign up in a second.

I learned the most when Rob told me what does NOT work and why. Reading Rob's critiques is extremely helpful.

Highly recommended.

  40 .  Nikon D 60 class
I am enrolled in "Nature Track" for the the next few months. I would like to take the class on the Nikon D 60. Will it continue to be offered even though the camera is no longer in production? If the class is no longer available can I take in along with the Nature Track classes if I put it on my credit card as an extra class?

  Hi David,
Good question, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible in a direct email.

Thanks, David!
