  81 .  The instructor
Who teaches these courses? What is this persons back ground and where did they study photography?

Please share some true positive news.

1/16/2014 2:30:39 AM

If you go to the pull down menu for interactive courses, there is a tab for pro instructors. If you click on a photo, it takes you to their bio/gallery and you can get a pretty good idea of what they shoot and see if their course would be right for you.

To piggy back on Carolyn's reply, here's the course catalog:

http://www.betterphoto.com/online-photography-courses-all.asp

Feel free to contact the instructor directly for questions on the course, experience, etc. It doesn't have to be a mystery.

Although I've not taken a BP course, I've heard positive comments about them.

1/16/2014 9:12:33 AM

  MaryAnne,

There are currently 23 instructors with Betterphoto, and you can see the list here:

http://www.betterphoto.com/photography-classes-instructors.asp

Each will have a bio. I believe all of us have been with BP for several years, at least! All are experts in the field, though experience and specializations vary widely. The courses should mostly have reviews from other students -- unless the course is new.

I'd be glad to answer any questions about the two courses I teach now. I hope to have a few more in the coming months!

Richard

1/17/2014 1:05:54 AM

Thank you all for taking the time to give me positive information! I am very thankful.

I am so glad to hear that there are qualified teachers available and that I may see their bios. I had no idea who was teaching the courses. I teach and wanted to make sure that the courses were taught by someone who is very professional and has a lot of experience.

Thank you for taking the time to enlighten me. I appreciate your time and energy.

many blessings and happy photographing.

Glad you feel at ease, MaryAnne.

By the way, Jim also is a big fan of the Green Drink too.

UB.

1/20/2014 2:25:12 AM

  MaryAnne,

I think Jim's expertise is a bit understated!! And formal training in a subject never substitutes for real experience. For example, I have a Master of Fine Arts... in Fiction Writing! I can count the dollars I made writing fiction. On the other hand, I am probably one of the most experienced Photoshop experts on the planet. At the time I started learning PS there were no books on the subject, let alone classes or formal training. I've written 9 books on the topic, taught formally in college classrooms, have been a consultant, a columnist and actually added features to the Photoshop program... Ansel Adams actually trained in ... classical music, not photography. Safe to say "training" is not always the best gage of qualifications. The instructors here have vast knowledge. When I came here with 25 years of experience, I learned from the instructors I talked to by sharing experience. I am excited about my piers, and I think you will be too.

Just to say: My best college instructors... did not have a PhD. Words they said 20+ years ago resonate in my head at times I least expect it. and they may be words about writing fiction that apply to photography, or words about how to stage a play, or how to cook a roast... Real teachers make you understand, and grow... not develop under their light.

Richard

You forgot your days with Cream and your sets with Steve Winwood at the Crossroads Guitar Festival.

Jim wrote 5 books on women?

1/20/2014 2:38:00 PM

Honestly, I think I'm better looking than Clapton.

I don't know about Jim writing about women... but here is a list of his photography books on amazon:

1/20/2014 11:47:27 PM

thank you for taking the time to respond.

I look forward to seeing your photos Richard L. Perhaps leaving out one's last name is a good idea.

blessings to all.

1/21/2014 3:19:31 AM

  One more thing........

Richard L is what I saw when I scrolled up on the response page - I did not realize you published your whole name. I am new and have not explored all areas of BP. Now I see my last name as "B".

Richard I love your photo "Tritone Parsnip". Wonderful. Good eye!

Blessings.

PS---The author Jim Miotke for the books "about women", is a different Jim Miotke than the one who operates Betterphoto. You can read the two different author biographies at Amazon.com.

About the Author (Not BP Jim)
Jim is retired career military who: traveled world-wide; Celestial navigator; Mater rifle and pistol shot; lived overseas ten years and six years at sea. Learned Greek to ask for wife's hand, which he's been holding for forty years. Also learned German.

Secret Agent Jim Miotke. Learned Greek just to ask a woman to marry him? That's just four words.
Understanding exposure from all those spy photos.

1/21/2014 7:30:50 AM

Yes, if you just look up Richard Lynch, you'll find that I am dead several times over and used to act in horror films having been terribly burned and scarred at one point. I'm just the Richard Lynch part that writes the Photoshop books, and some off-the-wall prose.

I learned a lot the day I shot that Parsnip. I shot it for about 4 hours playing with vintage lenses on my digital camera. I was in a Edward Weston moment... The tri-toning is my own very monotonous process using the very misunderstood Multichannel mode in Photoshop.

I'm not hiding my name!

Richard Lynch

1/21/2014 8:37:39 AM

Darn! I was hoping he wrote those books and this one ... http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/adultery-jim-miotke/1007666261?ean=9781599264288

Seems Jim 2 is very different than Jim 1. but it seems they both are not one trick ponies either...like myself.

I manage a stock portfolio and an art portfolio.

I am sorry to hear about your multi-deaths Richard L. You look great for a dead guy!!

If you look me up (under images). I am a beauty queen from the USA with big Farah Fawcett hair. It seems I won some contest and women flocked around me and started crying. NOT my scene.

My best photo instructor, is my girlfriend's 26 year daughter with Down's Syndrom. She speaks 8 lanuages but has no college or University training.

cheers

1/21/2014 10:01:19 AM

  ps.
I have been a Stock Trader for 30 years. With no traing what so ever. I have not even read a book about it. Maybe that is why I do so well.

Kalena, I got an EP on the 7th, in Catch-all. But I don't know if they've done all the categories for the 7th. You could go to the "Recent Contest Entries" page and just scroll thru each category and look for yourself...it's tedious, though.

If you see some people start getting them on the 8th, then it's probably a safe bet that BP is thru with the 7th. However, this is not a hard/fast rule because many people reported EPs a few days ago for early December, long after BP had done their initial pass through.

Betty Ann, I know the feeling. I stopped entering for a while and tried again the last week or so of January but nothing. I know it shouldn't make a difference but it does offer encouragement. A POTD would also be encouraging. I'll give it to the end of Feb. then I'm done. I'm in MA and the snow looks like it's getting lighter now.

Hi Beth. You mentioned you started entering again the last week of January. Based on this EP thread, I think they're only up to Jan 18th. If you entered new photos after Jan 18th, then you may still get an EP or EPs.

Jill had mentioned to Joannie and me that it was easy to start the new Month's thread for the EPs, Finalists, Winners, and Judges' Favorites.

As February is already seeing some EPs, there are going to be requests to start it immediately. I've decided not to do it. Hopefully, this won't be construed as a negative and removed. It's just a heads up that someone else needs to step up to the plate.

Did not enter on Jan 30. Skipped for Jan 29 and 31. Got one for Jan 28. Overall, 16 out of 29 got EPs, almost 50% success rate.

14 out of 27 for me. It was better last month.

2/7/2014 6:51:22 AM

11 EPs for January-better than last month!

2/7/2014 7:32:15 AM

January was another light month for me ... only six entries. But five got EPs, so I'm happy with that. :)

2/7/2014 10:05:42 AM

Beth started the February EP thread. Here's the link:
http://www.betterphoto.com/forms/QnAdetail.asp?threadID=36087

2/7/2014 10:11:15 AM

I think I had entered five and got three. None in Feb. yet.

2/9/2014 8:20:26 AM

It appears they have gone back and added things for January EPs that previously were skipped. Four additional suddenly for me, although my favorite still lacks one.

2/15/2014 9:12:09 AM

Well that makes for more EP's! Yayyyyy!
I now have 9!

1-2 Turn out the Lights, the Party is Over
1-9 Mabry Mills
1-11 Juice Any One?
1-18 Let the Sunshine In
1-20 A Rose
1-22 Pretty as a picture
1-24 Deer Crossing
1-27 Fractalius Macro
1-29 Rain, Rain Go Away

2/15/2014 9:45:38 AM

I just discovered the same thing, Mitch. I had one for the 6th (which was my final entry.) Now, all but one of the six entries have an EP. I haven't taken any pictures since Christmas.

Catch-All:
01/01 - Night Fall

Nature & Landscapes:
01/02 - Lakeside Tree

Nature & Landscapes:
01/03 - Lakeside Five

Catch-All:
01/05 - Approaching Night

01/06 - A Little Remaining Light

2/15/2014 10:22:19 AM

Oops. Error - No EP on 01/05, and the one on the 6th is a Catch-All.

2/15/2014 10:26:36 AM

Thanks Mitch for pointer. I received a couple more EPs and one was a favorite, so extra happy!!!

UB.

2/15/2014 11:22:06 AM

  Got another for January!

1-17 Ferris Wheel

Sooo, that's ten EP's for January, never thought I would be so happy to get EP's! :-) Used be those would always be finalist, boy, did that ever change! lol

jo ann c.

2/15/2014 3:15:48 PM

Picked up two more for a total of 13 EPs for January- mor than I thought I'd get!

2/15/2014 5:20:48 PM

Their timing is improving quite a bit. Now, if only they'd stop jumping around. Once, they skipped my first five entries and gave an EP for 01/06 - I figured that was it, and didn't return. Checking back all the time is pretty depressing. At least, I did check after receiving an email notification about a comment on one of mine. It had an EP that wasn't there before. That's when I found the new EPs for three of the five ones that were skipped earlier.

The 2 Staff Favorites turned into finalist!

Yayyyyy!

If you want to see them,go to my gallery and they are right up front!

Thanks for the comments already..

Can someone explain to me when the monthly contest winners are posted usually. Is there a certain time each month?

3/24/2014 7:40:52 AM

  No.
and
Nope.
We can give you very general parameters - through the years the finalists have been posted as early as mid-month (even earlier, once, I think) and as late as a day or so into the next month. More recently, they are quite late in the month but by the end of the month. But you can be assured that they will be selected and posted :)

3/24/2014 7:50:15 AM

Thanks Nikki, I have not seen a pattern to many things over the past months.

  83 .  Countdown to December's Contest Results
Hello Everyone!

I'm stepping in for Chris, who stepped in for Michele Fricke in June 2013, who replaced Elida Gutierrez in June 2009, who replaced Chris Budny in April 2008, who replaced John Caruso in Feb 2008, and who replaced Sharon Day in April 2007. Sharon was doing the contest countdown when I joined BP in 2005.

This monthly thread is where we share our favorite contest image(s) from December. If it makes Staff Fav/Finalist/Winner, all the better. So give your favorites a showcase here, tell us why you picked them, and join us in the countdown... Good luck to all of you!

If the last few months are any indication, BP will finish the EP selection around the 25th of January, then Staff Favs by the 28th, Finalists by the 29th, and Winners on the 30th. It could be a mad dash to the finish line, so hold on cause we're all in it together. If it's any consolation, the judges have far fewer images to judge, as compared to several years ago. This month, I think there were around 6,000 contest images; three years ago the total was 30,000/month.

Some helpful hints for attaching photos into a BP Forum Thread, if you're unfamiliar with the process:
1) Sign into BP. IF YOU HAVEN'T entered the Contest for today, you can use the "Photo ID" method to pull an existing image (from your Member Center) into your Reply here. This avoids a duplicate image upload to your Member Center. Note the Photo ID# of the image you wish to include here (visible in your Member Center) then return to this thread, click Respond, enter the text of your reply, and choose "1" from the images-to-attach drop-down (even though you won't actually be uploading a file.) Click Submit; at the next screen, populate the "Photo ID" field shown over at the right. Skip the other text fields on that screen, check the boxes at the bottom, and Submit.

2) IF YOU HAVE ALREADY entered the Contest for today, you can't use the Photo ID method *today*. Either wait until tomorrow to reply here first, or upload a copy of the image (from your PC) and attach to this thread. This produces a duplicate image in your Member Center; however, you don't have to make that duplicate visible in your Gallery.

If you're uploading a duplicate, I suggest titling it "For Forum" so it stands out in your Member Center, for easier housecleaning later on. This can also help nudge BP viewers to go find the original image in your gallery, if they want to leave a comment. Likewise, if you want to add a comment to a photo seen here, first try to tell if it is a duplicate upload. As a courtesy, try to find the original image in the member's gallery and leave your comment there instead of on the duplicate... which may one day be deleted.

Hi Kalena, I can't take credit for the tips. I just cut/pasted what Chris Budny had last month, which he probably cut/pasted from Michele. :-) It's a team effort, for sure! Nice job with the Lensbaby. I like its effect on your flower shot. I tried one a few years ago and could never master it, and gave it to a friend.

Martha, thanks for sharing your photo. Pretty colors with a nice flow. Good luck in the next round!

Jill, that's a very magical shot. And I bet you've had more snow in the Mojave Desert than we've had in Omaha. It's just brown here now; no snow at all.

And long story short, I'm at work, and can't upload another copy anyway, since it is at home ;) hehehe

Too cold and icy outside, so I started looking for photo subjects inside this morning...
I also dug out my light-tent lights and started playing around with them; I ended up shooting

Here we go... December was my lightest month in a long time -- only 5 entries -- and this one came about from boredom one cold night, wondering what I could photograph with my macro lens at home; I got out the light tent & lights, and really liked the result of this, particularly the light reflected off the nickel and onto the black mat board.

December was a light month for me too ... only 8 entries and so far only two of them have EPs.

It's always hard to pick a favorite, because all my photos are my "babies", ya know?

Anyway, I'll pick one of my two (!) EPs.

Here's wishing the best of luck to all in the contest, and happy shooting!

Hi Peggy, welcome aboard!! That's a nice macro you've submitted…the colors, the crispness, and the comp. Good luck to you in the next rounds!

As best I can tell, BP has gone thru less than 50% of the December photos, for EPs. I've seen consistent results from Dec 1st thru 12th, and some random ones from Dec 22nd and Dec 31st. So, please don't get discouraged for those photos you posted after Dec 12th, as I think we'll see many more EPs coming soon.

Welcome Mike and Nikki. Mike, it's great to have another landscape photographer join our thread. Morants Curve is a beautiful area in the Canadian Rockies, and you've done it justice. I'm sure the wait was worth it.

Nikki…oops…hopefully you can get your photo uploaded.

And for a little personal info…I've known Mike since 1994 as he lives about 10 minutes from me and we've traveled/photographed many nice locales in the United States. And Nikki McDonald lives about 15 minutes from both of us, and all three of us have gotten together multiple times to photograph Omaha and the surrounding countryside.

1/19/2014 9:14:58 PM

Nikki, this thread is for posting your favorite images from December. I posted this one on Dec 12 and since I have gotten an EP for Dec 15, I assume they passed this one over...:-)Like Ken said, as long as I like it, that is really all that matters. It's going to be my Christmas card next Christmas...

Very well said, Kara. I think you speak for many of us!

Looks like they are about done with December's EPs. I'm seeing tons of EPs on people's galleries, from the 20th thru 31st of Dec. On the EP thread, Jim Miotke said they were speeding up the selections, and they have.

The preceding three months, the final EPs weren't handed out until the 25th, 27, and 28th of the month. For December, they are basically done by the 20th.

Moral of the story--we might see Staff Favs in the next few days, followed by finalists around the 25th, similar to how BP used to do it. I don't think it will be as rushed this month.

1/20/2014 6:09:36 AM

I lost track of the EPs for December, so checked back. I had more personal favourites than in other months, but the one that was so much fun was the Solstice Stars - using the Topaz Star Effects and other filters on a very old orchard tree.

1/20/2014 6:49:42 AM

Way to go,Jim and team! This early completion of EP selection process will provide sufficient time for the remaining three stages to get over in due course and without rushing through. This was the need of the hour and what I had also suggested in my feedback. Thanks!!

1/20/2014 6:59:30 AM

  Isn't that good news!

I too gave feedback for a faster EP selection, so hope this has helped support the BP team.

1/20/2014 7:05:52 AM

I think it's great! We are all happier now, I bet, and that will make them happier, also!

1/20/2014 7:22:14 AM

Kudos to Team BP on expeditious EP stamping. Looking forward to find out the SFs, Fs and Winners, hopefully a few days before the end of the month.

I, however, have a prayer for Team BP....
to try to keep two days between announcing the Finalists and Winners, this way I, along with many other BPers am sure, will have ample time to see/comment on many of the Finalists before actually knowing the Winners. Its been very frustrating the last few months, when the Winners were announced too soon after announcement of the Finalists. In fact, it happened on the same day just recently. So if the suggestion is not too difficult to perform for Team BP and if it gets the nod of majority of other members, i/we will appreciate if it is implemented for future months.

UB.

Usman, I would also like to see two days between Staff Favs and Finalists, for the same reasons you cite. That way, everything is a more orderly pace and I think most folks like to pause in-between these award-winning rounds.

OK...it's time for other folks to show us your "fav" photo for December. :-)

Nope, East Village in Des Moines. It does have a kind of Old Market feel, doesn't it? Thanks for the comment, Ken.

Sooooooo difficult to select an image. I was in Little Rock before Christmas and I was blown away by the sunrises and sunsets. I guess that's a benefit of a big sky state.

Taking the liberty of posting a second fave ... hope no one minds ... :)

I didn't post this as a fave before because it didn't have an EP, but shame on me, I should have anyway! I am enjoying exploring more a bit more abstract and impressionistic styles.

This was entered in Monthly Theme.

Hey Peggy, thanks for sharing. Your love for the photo should transcend whether it gets an EP, and we should never let an EP define the value we place on a photo. And it's fun to try different things…so good for you!

Finally remembering to post my favorite from the December contest. It's a reworked image of my daughter.

Incredible that January is almost gone. I'm about to be my hubby's plus one on a business trip to Milan and am so excited.

And, thank you Ken for taking over this thread. I'm happy to see lots of participation on it and wishing everyone lots of luck!

Hey Jackie, thanks for sharing your fav. And it's a beauty; I'm envious. It should be on a brochure that spotlights this Cathedral!

Hopefully you are not losing interest in photography, in general. And based on Jim Miotke's comments in the December EP thread, I'm optimistic that we'll see positive changes in the contest. So, keep the fire burning!!

Thank you very much Usman. It means so much that you and other BP contributors think I'm doing ok with my photography. Especially with the changes we have seen here. :) It does appear that BP may be listening to our angst in the changes. I think they have also lost some bucks with people not renewing. So lets hope the feel will be a little brighter in the next couple months.

Looks like another "crunch" month, with SF, Finalists & Wins all packed into the last few days/hours of the month... I hope that with the recent changes Jim has alluded to, they can return to their older schedules -- where Finalists were ready mid-month, and there was a pleasant pause of a few days before Winners -- so you could have time to enjoy the Finalists for awhile, and mentally "pick" your own candidates for winners... ;)

Congrats to everyone that got Staff Favs. And I think we'll see finalists later tonight (United States time). So, enjoy the chocolate, beverages, etc.

Based on the BP e-mail, there were 697 SFs out of ~ 5,600 contest images, for success rate of 12.4%. Last month (Nov), BP had a 10% selection rate for finalists. I'm guessing for December, it will be around 8%. And if so, that means we'll see around 450 finalists. While that might not sound like a lot of finalists, the percentage would still be pretty high. And if you got your fair share of SFs, you'll probably get your fair share of finalists too.

Good luck!!

1/31/2014 4:28:55 PM

I'm very happy to have received two SFs.
Hopefully we will see finalists tonight. I'll be noshing on chocolate while we wait.
Good luck, everyone!

1/31/2014 6:08:02 PM

  Peggy,
I got 2 SFs also. You crack me up with the chocolate. I had some a few minutes ago, we get to wait and see. I am always so impressed with the talent of the photographers in this bunch. Good luck everyone!!!!!

Congrats to all the finalists! And I agree with Chris…tick tock til we see gold medals within the next few hours.

Garret, if you're using the old style gallery, the finalist emblem will replace the EP. You won't see both. But with the new style gallery, you can configure the display to show both the EPs and the medals. Likewise, you can chose NOT to display them.

1/31/2014 7:19:51 PM

Interesting about the medals, Ken - long as I've been here, I don't think I've ever noticed or known that. I've kept the old style so it's always out with the EP if I'm lucky enough to get a Finalist (or SF, now).
Two SF's for me, one of which went silver.

1/31/2014 7:25:19 PM

I've just been savoring the finalists, and once again, I am blown away by the talent here.
Congrats to all the awesome finalists!
Best of luck in the next round!

Hello everyone. Thanks for participating in this month's Contest Countdown. And congrats to those who got SFs, Finalists, and Golds. Lots of talent associated with the mini-pics on this forum thread.

And congrats to Ken B for first-time gold. I think you need to treat all of us to a virtual round of beverages. :-)

For the stats lovers, December's SF rate was 12.4% and Finalist rate was 7.6%.

There were ~5600 contest photos for December, and I noticed nearly 7,000 for January, before I turned in last night. That's a 25% increase in contest entries for Jan. Hopefully this upward trend will continue in Feb, even with just 28 days in the month.

2/1/2014 7:49:56 AM

Thanks for hosting, and for your encouragement to all of us, Ken!

Well, when it comes to processing my black and white film, I'm still going with the Great Yellow Father. HC110 for my developer. I'm printing on Orient Seagull VC RC II 8x10 Glossy.   87 .  survey/2 for 1 basic gallery?
I filled out Jim's survey and got a $50.00 credit.I didn't want to take a class, so just ignored the credit until I got an email from him this morning:
"SECONDLY, I made a mistake yesterday, when I said that you can use your discount code ( happy50offBP2014 ) on a gallery. Since galleries cost only $49, this was causing a $1 credit, driving my bookkeeper nuts, and giving some people were page errors.

So I've decided to instead make it so that you can get or renew a BetterPhoto Gallery with a special 2-for-1 deal.

For the next 7 days, gallery owners get TWO YEARS for the price of one. If you want a gallery, simply go renew before Tuesday, January 14th, at midnight, and we'll add an extra year to your order for free."
This is kind of confusing to me. If it's Buy one get one free and the credit is for $50.00, then shouldn't we get both for free? If one year is $49.00 and my credit is for $50.00 that should cover it and the 2nd year should be free ...no? Apparently not as when you go to put in the code it still wants your $49.00 out of your pocket...Instead of confusing folks, why didn't Jim just offer the Buy one get one free deal and leave the whole coupon thing out of the equation? Just sayin'....

1/8/2014 8:53:59 AM

Yesterday's e-mail mentioned galleries, too, so I used that code to renew and the expiration date of my gallery was changed from September 2014 to 2015 but maybe they'll cancel it now. I will not pay for the option they offered today (they have had 2 for 1 offers before and I've used a couple of these in the past) and if my gallery will expire this September, not next, I'll not renew my gallery any more.... the recent developments are not very promising.

Jill, I reread Jim's e-mail. He's basically saying that the $50 coupon can only be applied to classes. But because his original e-mail mentioned galleries, he's saying that he'll give a 2-1 deal. But you have to pay the upfront costs. Again, the coupon is now only valid for the classes.

1/8/2014 7:10:19 PM

The email says I have until the 14th...

1/8/2014 10:29:11 PM

I clicked the renew now button and got a prominent Two Years for the Price of One renewal form.

I filled in my CC information and the emailed code. The order confirmation page stated I'd be getting two years for $49 but only one year was added to my gallery subscription.

1/11/2014 8:32:46 AM

Irene, contact them and let them know. Hopefully they will fix it. The expiration for the offer is the 14th, so I would let them know what date you paid it

1/11/2014 8:42:41 AM

Same here, Irene. I e-mailed them a copy of the confirmation page, and they added the extra year almost immediately.

1/11/2014 8:43:43 AM

Irene, did you add the coupon code?

1/11/2014 8:53:41 AM

Well, I bit the bullet and renewed and also did not get the 2nd year added. I did use the coupon and there was a note saying the coupon was not valid or may have expired...I sent BP an email and nothing has been done yet.

1/11/2014 10:35:02 AM

My gallery now shows the correct expiration date. I had not contacted them but the correction was made.

Jill, I'm sure you will get the additional year also.

1/11/2014 7:52:40 PM

Yes, all set now for another 2 additional years of fun :-)

1/11/2014 8:24:25 PM

I also ordered the 2 for 1 Gallery and got only one year added! I emailed BP about this. I had one year left but decided to purchase for 2 more years and only one year was applied!

1/13/2014 4:08:02 PM

I see they've corrected the error! GOod!

You can enter the contest from your Member Center (for images that are already loaded to your Member Center, whether or not they are actively displayed in your gallery/website), or, you can enter the contest directly during the image-upload process.
But there isn't a way to enter the contest, while viewing your gallery/website of images.

I haven't entered many photos since becoming aware of the rule to only ever enter any photo but one time. Do I misunderstand this rule or does that literally mean we can never enter a particular photo more than once? My problem is I have a huge archive of images, many have been entered and many have not. I have no way of knowing whether a particular image has been entered in the past and my old mind doesn't remember for me. Thanks for any clarification.

If you upload it as a new image, then the submission system will not protest. You cannot re-enter the image you already entered this month but if you upload a different version (e.g. with effects) then you can.

Sharon, BP doesn't enforce this rule. I don't believe it's posted anywhere, for reference, that you can't resubmit. Jim Miotke did mention it earlier this year but their process still allows resubmits. I've seen many EPs and finalists resubmitted month after month, that continue to win. You can check this month's contest entries; just go to the back pages and you'll see what I mean.

My recommendation; do as Tia suggests. Just enter it again from scratch. With over one million uploads, I doubt the EP-picker will remember. :-)

Thanks, Tiia & Ken! I've kind of missed entering but can't recall for sure what I've entered.

Same issue here, Sharon - too many to remember, and I'm not about to wade through 850-plus photos every time I upload something. If I'm unsure, I just look at my entries for the previous month and if the one I'm uploading isn't in there, up it goes.

  Thanks, Monnie!

Do you get credits for any self pace courses?

  Hi Larry,
No, sorry. Only the interactive online courses qualify for credits toward certification.

Thanks for asking!
