Naperville, IL Street at Night 5546
Canon EOS10D, 10 sec shutter, f19 (for depth of field) 17mm (Canon 17-40 mm f4.0 L), ISO 100, no flash, no exp compensation, no filter remote release. Shot 3/6/2004 6:23 pm (almost fully dark in Naperville, IL that time of day, that time of year). Why it worked out...First vehicle on left (van) shows up after shutter is open, it gets illuminated partially by street lights but also by headlings of cars on right, it rolls the turn slowly and next vehicle shows and stops.

Ray, Thanks for the comments. The picture does look much better printed 8.5x11 or full screen. Here is how I did it (I shoot several hundred this way). Same with other cars on the right entering the intersection. I shot a ton this way, and have a bunch with Ghosted people walking the intersection too. Then, do the flip side, pan with 70-200mm lens, AI focus, Wimberley head, tripod and you get entirely different look from exact same spot.
