Wonderful, Garth!
Visited there a few years ago. An amazing spot with a beautiful love story to go along with that castle.

  Thanks Lisa!

I might have missed the Editor's Pick had you not commented on the picture. We had
arrived on a boat from Canada and when we
left they went around the island giving me a great view of both the Power Plant and the Playhouse from the Seaway.

  Thanks Candice & Jean!

The Boldt Castle was built by Mr. Boldt
for his wife. He was a wealthy business man and bought an island in the 1000 Island area in the Seaway beteem New York
and Canada. The power plant provided the
electricity for the castle grounds.

Mrs. Boldt died young before the castle
could be finished and Mr. Boldt never returned to the castle or had it finished. The Boldt family eventually donated the land and castle to the state of New York which opened the island and castle for tourist.
