No, this isn't half of a pair that I'm aware of. The day I went, there were lots of swans chillin' by themselves and some coupled up. I don't know if it's because they were, indeed, single or if they were just doing their own thing at the time. There were several groups of goslings around, so maybe this was just Daddy keeping watch over the family. I guess I never thought of it as lonely, but I can see where it would make you feel that way. Thanks for sharing what you saw and how it made you feel. I like that!
