This is Tank, the Grizzly Bear. An 8 year old, 800 lb male grizzly at time of photo. He is in Bear World USA. South Dakota. My wife took this photo for me because I was throwing hot-dogs at the time. LOL One of the guides that came along asked me to throw "Tank" a hot-dog so he would perform for us. The guide had a bad shoulder and could not do it himself. As you can see, Tank likes his hot-dogs. A very beautiful bear....Denny

Thank you very much, Ray and Heidi!
Heidi, this is not the same bear. The "Tank" you are referring to is the brother of "Bart" the bear. Bart is probably the most famous of all movie star bears along with "Gentle Ben". Bear Country considers this Tank still a wild bear even though he is in captivity. He doesn`t seem wild because he has never known the wild. Anyway, he`s a great bear also.

Have a Great Day.....Denny

Thank you, Karen! I think bears will eat almost anything and hot-dogs are right up there at the top of the list. LOL

Grizzlies are awesome animals and Tank is certainly an impressive one. I have been near a griz in the wild. Unforgettable! Yes, they eat anything. :)

Great catch here, Denny, and lucky you, getting to see him perform like this. I think I would just as soon not meet this guy on a woodland path though.

Thank you Dennis. The last time we were in Yellowstone, we saw a young one next to the road but he would not cooperate, so we did not get very good pictures of him. Talked to a ranger later and he said he was worried about him. He spends way too much time next to and on the road. They try to keep people and bears far apart but this one keeps coming back. We were entering Yellowstone from the east and about two miles in there was two bull moose in the brush, did not get good pictures of them either. About a mile on down the road was this young grizzly, so you never know when they will pop up. Best of luck getting one in front of your camera and saying cheese.

Have a great day....Denny
