Anniversary Roses

A very romantic shot David, I love the soft natural light you used for this. And the water drops are great. I would have liked to have seen it with a more even background and the full rose in frame, but I'm sure you were avoiding something to the right and that is probably the reason you cropped as you did. A great idea if you don't have a nice background is to use construction paper or even better 12X12 scrapbooking paper that can be found at JoAnn Fabrics. Others have also told me about large rolls of paper used for artwork, but I havne't searched them out yet. Welcome to BP and the NCC club David! Glad to have you with us!

Aimee - fantastic feedback, thanks! Yes, the cropping was a bit painful for me, but necessary. The background ideas were great! The toughest thing, I remember, about this picture was trying to keep that point-and-shoot from re-focusing! It had a nice, fast lens on it though. Unfortunately it quit working a few years ago. I bought a newer one, but I still hope to get a dSLR someday. I miss that ultimate creative ability from my 35mm days! Thanks for the great welcome!
