Terry – thank you for your comment on this photo! I was looking at this plant many times, because the shape of those leaves had a black spiky ending, which I liked very much. Also when I looked closer I saw that they pressed shapes on each other. It made an extra design and also took my attention. The composition maybe is not what I wished for, but there were many other plants around and I had trouble getting what I really wanted. The photo was taken in black and white mode, so there no conversion was needed - just slightly adjusted levels.

Monica, you mentioned that the composition may not be just what you wanted for this shot, but I think it's great! The monochrome was a perfect choice too! Altogether a VERY pleasing shot Monica...your 'finalist' placing was well-deserved for this one!
