Luke Jones Music Hall
U.S. 281 and FM 581
Adamsville, Texas

You can hear "Faded Love," "Waltz Across Texas," and other classic tunes spilling out of the humble tin-sided Luke Jones Music Hall on a Saturday evening in tiny Adamsville. Luke Jones was an auto mechanic-turned-fiddle maker. He made more than 40 before he died at the age of 87. Now his sons, Darrel and Troy Jones, carry on the tradition at the music hall. "It's just the pure stuff," says a neighbor. "They don't dance. They don't drink. They don't smoke." Luke started it all years ago. Well, he died eight years ago, but he dedicated the hall to the community so it would be here forever and ever. No doubt, western swing will be kept alive in Adamsville because of one man's enthusiasm.

Looks like a great place to spend a Saturday evening, Jim. Great representation of Texas -- I believe I'm picking up the strains of Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys...

Thanks so much, Y'all!! I was there last night, presented the Jones family an 8 x 10 of the building. They were overcome, as was the crowd. A good time was had by all .. Sure, Deb, the Texas Playboys, Hank Williams ... still going strong! Thank you, Janet, for dropping in .. and thank you too, Shelly, I always appreciate y'alls comments and support!

Thank you so much, Nadya! Oh yes, a very reserved crowd ... I'd say the ages run between high sixties and low 80s! Very relaxed and conservative!
But such sweet people! Thanks for droppin in!

Sounds like my kind of place. You get to hear real 'Honky Tonk' music without all the honky stuff that usually goes along with it. I love all the Texas lore that you give us, Jim.
