Never thought I'd get this close to a wild Red Tailed Hawk, but found him lying on the ground by my office last summer. I called a bird rescue group who told me the hawk was dehydrated. While waiting for them I moved the hawk to a field across the street on a lid from a Rubbermaid tub (didn’t want to take any chances). The hawk let me do whatever I wanted, so I knew he was not well. Knowing I’d probably never get this chance, and having my camera handy, I took a few close up p

Mike, amazing image of this beautiful hawk. The lighting, detail, clarity and tones are outstanding! It is strange sometimes how they know you are not going to hurt them. It was kind of you to come to his rescue.
