~1868~

BetterPhoto.com Photo Contest Finalist   ~1868~
~1868~

This was taken in
mid-April of '07
at a soldiers fort in
the neighboring town Of Larned.
They have preserved this
fort in wonderful ways...
located very close to
the Santa Fe Trail.
I think they built things
quite well back then....

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!

Jeana- Excellent way to cature this and the eye to observe it. The 1868 sign is such a sweet touch. Just love it and the way you caugh the window.
The lighting and clarity are outstanding. The textures and details superb. The colors are rich and the different shades of the brick really give this old place such a wonderful charm. Done so well.
Have a most wonderful day, take care, be safe. Give yourself an extra time out for doing such a fantastic job with this one.

I'm for Elements of Design on this one, too, Jeanna--but you don't have to resubmit if that's the way you want to go. Since they are way behind on EP's, this should work for you; if it had already passed through the judging process and had received an EP in the original category, no need to resubmit anyway and if it had been passed over, I'm sure it would be too late.

Here is a way to change the category on a photo without deleting it or affecting the number of entries you can make in a month. I found the following instructions in the forum archives and have used them successfully myself.

"The easiest way [to change a category] is wait one day and before entering another photo, go to the contest entry page [CONTEST-Enter to Win] and enter the photo number in the block [Photo ID #] on the right side. [Then select a new category, check the box to indicate you have read Terms and Conditions, and Submit. There should be no need to change your title or description.]. This will effectively change your category without counting as your entry of the day. Then if you have another photo, you can still enter it.

If you don't know the photo number, sign in to your account and go to the Edit Photos tab, the number will be right below the thumbnail of your photo. [Copy it before you go to the main contest entry page and then you can just paste it in the little box]"

Hope this helps. These instructions were originally posted by Dennis Flannagan. I went to the page and stepped through them and added the comments in brackets.

  Jeana, Jeana, Jeana!
No one else will tell you so I will...this photo is not that good.
The reason is that your lens distorted the bricks, they look all different sizes!!.....:):)
(I am kidding folks, don't jump on me!)
A little more seriously; one of the bricks in the middle- doesn't it have some writing on it??
Yea, I like it!!
Jim
