Photographing Egrets,Ibis and other water fowl is so hard no matter how early you get there or where you set up, you are never close enough. I scared them again although I was much closer. F/11 at 1/500s, 400mm, handheld with early morning light.

Unbelievable light, colors and details here Bill! Looks like you are enjoying your 100-400L IS lens. Santa Clause is bringing me one for Christmas but I doubt I'll ever get shots to match yours.
