Thank you Miss D!!! IT IS SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL THERE!!! It's not crowded at all and the main population of the island are conservationists and plan on keeping the island as wild as possible. And there is so much wildlife! You can sit on the shore and look out at the clear blue water and see Herons, gulls, vultures, eagles, sea stars, oysters, clams, otters and seals!!! Not to mention the plentiful deer that roam freely through the yards and along the roads without fear of humans. There are so many evergreen trees you can't see most of the houses from the road and there are wildflowers everywhere. I could go on and on!...I just LOVE it there!

Hmmmm...sounds like MY kind of place and so good I think I will look into this a little more!! Possible vacation next year!! When is the best time to go???

I would say during the summer. When the weather is bad, it gets pretty damp there but the summers are really nice. I think they are building a new recreational facility including a hotel but there are not to many perks on this island. There's only a couple places to eat and one golf course that I know of but it's great for photo buffs!

This is a lovely image, Marta. I love the composition but my favorite part, I think, is the background. The DOF is perfect for me--enough clarity to suggest the pine forest but not enough to compete with the detail in the gull, post, and cables. And the color is wonderful, too.
