Hi Karen. It's nice that you have such nice and willing subjects. Your photo tells me that they are a happy and close family. There are two things that I notice. The young man's white t-shirt seems to distract. Maybe having him hold the dog would be better. Next, the eye levels of your four subjects. The men are staggered and the young ladies and dog are at the same place. How about raising the girl or lowering the dog?The only other thought I have would be to ask the father to put his left hand around his daughters shoulder and hold the dog with his right arm only.
