Hi Karen, Both of these beautiful; I’m glad you took more morning glories while you could. Either format could work here since the subject itself is round; it’s then all in how you crop and where you focus, as you’ve shown us here. Professional photographers often take both aspects to offer both vertical and horizontal options for flexible page layout (and more sales). This is a good subject to work both ways. It is true, as you point out, that sharp focus draws our attention and leads us in the direction of the focused lines, but aspect isn’t focus dependent.
