Blue Velvet


	Blue Velvet Finalist This photo was taken in a gallery at Versailles, empty at the time of my visit--perhaps because it is practically a natural black and white and in stark contrast to the ostentatious splendor and glitter of the rest of the palace. While I did take the photo in color, converting and selecting the blue in PSE-4, the decision as to WHAT to select was done for me--the only spot of color in this neutral corridor was the bench cushion. 1/30 sec - f 2.80 - ISO 100 - available light Category: Travel and Place Nikki McDonald

Outstanding design elemnts here, Nikki. The patterns of the floor combined with the archs of the ceiling keep your eye on the move. Beautiful lighting and use of selective coloring. I am really enjoying this image!
