Cape Hatteras Lighthouse

Cape Hatteras Lighthouse
Cape Hatteras Lighthouse
Built in 1870, located at the oceans edge in the lower Outer Banks of North Carolina. This is the tallest brick lighthouse standing in America at 180 feet. I encourage lighthouse enthusiasts to educate themselves with this particular monument. It tells a wonderful story of survival.

Beautiful shot Karen.
I have one similar in my gallery.
My family & I did a tour of the outer banks on our spring break this year & we saw the 4 northern lights.
Have a great day!
Michelle

I am the descendant of 7 lighthouse keepers of the C. Hatteras Lighthouse. My Mom's side of the family has been there forever it seems. Thanks for encouraging people to explore. Its a shame they charge you to go up it now. I remember as a student in middle school running up the lighthouse when our basketball coach wanted us to get in shape.
