	Sunrise at Point Lobos State Park, CA The temperatures in CA were unseasonably cold when I took this shot. I had freezing cold water in my hiking boots and my pants were wet up to my knees. By the time I left I was shivering, and my fingers were stiff despite the gloves I was wearing. But heck - who's complaining? :) Varina C. Patel

Thank you, Renee. I took several shots waiting for the water to curl around that rock as it does in this shot. I was thrilled to capture it before the color faded in the sky.

What a beautiful morning. I think the result was well worth some stiff fingers. =) I love how the water looks very smooth and silky. What settings (if any) did you use on your camera? Beautiful image. Very tranquil and serene. Nicely done.

The shot was taken at f11 and 1.6 seconds. I chose the longer shutter speed in order to create the silky effect you speak of. I also used a Graduated ND filter to bring down the brightness of the sky.
