Nice photo, very atmospheric. Worked well in black and white. It felt like I was there when viewing it.

Incredible shot! Can you provide the tech specs for it? I am just getting started and would love to know what you used and how.

The photo is in my backyard (I live on an acreage) so I often just wait until the light is right and wander around in the forest. That day we had some low mist. I shot the image on color film using a hasselblad x-pan with a 45mm lens. I really liked the resulting photo but decided to convert it to black-n-white in photoshop. It looked even better then.

I had the photo of the forest on my wall and one day I decided that it could be improved by adding a wolf or a cougar. I got a wildlife photographer friend to give me a photo of a wolf. In photoshop I added the wolf and voila we have this photo.

Hi, Just also wanted to comment, that is one of the most beautiful shots taken, even if it was manipulated using Photoshop, shows imagination and also perfect placement.

No thoughts on selling the image? would love it on the wall or even a background on my computer.

Thanks

Sam (Wales UK)

I was admiring your photo while at the same time thinking, "how creepy". I wouldn't stand there taking that picture. Then I read that you put the wolf in. Great job! Looked real to me. I like the black and white, too. Congrats.

Perfect juxtaposition in this image. Well done. You either have an eye for that perfect moment to snap a shot or you don't. You do. Position of wolf in entire image is perfect. Eyes keep getting lead back to wolf. Thirds rule of photography.

Beautiful photo :) 'n good idea manipping the wolf in...
Although I might recomend if you still have the PDD of the image to touch up around the wolf, blend him to the background a lil more, he has a slight touch of a halo around him from his original background.

Sorry if I seem finiky at all! Just tryin to help. :) I do a lot of photomanipping myself as another style of art, so I have that unfortunate side effect to see tiny things.

You really did a wonderful job though! composition is beautiful!

First of all, I absolutely love the composition.........But how did this photo win in 2000, when it wasn't uploaded until a year later?

I've seen this photo on Webhots.com as a Pro Wallpaper - I loved it then and downloaded it to my desktop but I have to say that this original image is even better!! Love the panoramic format - terrific composition and wonderful work with Photoshop! :)
