LOVE this Carol!! This would be a GREAT image to place a few whimsical 'kids' around! Love how orton worked on this and like Vickie, said, it really is "hard to believe there are millions of tourist around"!! Great image!

Peaches, thank you so much! I noticed this place and loved the mill, so just had to take it. Because it is behind a fence, no tourists can get there to be in the way!

Jenifer, thank you so much for your kind comment! Too bad we couldn't have met! What day were you there? I might be wrong, and this may be part of the Splash Mountain ride instead of Thunder Mtn. We used the fast pass for both so got to ride. Justin was feeling sick though so he sat them out. We met my best friend and family there (at Carribean Beach Resort) and went with them!

This is a monumental photo I think. The Orton effects are simply stunning. Some people are emulating the two slide feature digitially in Photoshop layers. Others use Artizen HDR 2.4.5 which has a Photoshop plugin now. Which is your preferred method?

Steven, I really appreciate your kind comment. I have read some articles on HDR, but it seemed way over my head! :) But this plugin that you mention sounds interesting. I will definitely look it up. So on this image, I just used the method I found online at http://www.naturephotographers.net/articles0106/dw0106-1.html

Have you tried both, and if so, which do you like best?

Honestly, I think Artizen is much like Photoshop, although it does have some toning abilities via sliders that I would like to see in PSCS3. The manual Orton effect with layers within PSCS3 and applying a Multiply or Darken Blending option works fine for me. I like throwing in a bit of LucisArts Whyeth which brings out the detail better. The grave yard photo in my gallery is an example. Digital Film 55mm fog and some other 55mm effects can add to a filter concoction nicely.
