Carol, the lightbox is really just a cardboard box with the sides/top cut out and replaced with tracing paper (I used baking parchment 'cause that's all I had). Easy instructions are on Strobist.com.

The photo was originally supposed to be a completely white-on-white deal, but when I saw it on the monitor I was horrified to see all the previously-invisible little specks, fibers and dust motes that were on my camera sensor, as well as the white posterboard inside the box.

(I use a blower on the sensor--haven't got the nerve to wipe it yet ... and at this small aperture of f22, everything really shows up!).

Anyway, I spent *quite* awhile cloning the dust particles, and then darkened the outer part of the frame with the Melancholytron filter from Flaming Pear.
