Bridalveil Falls

Late in the afternoon Bridalveil Falls in Yosemite get a wonderful rainbow. This was shot on print film on a trip there in 2001. It was a very difficult photo to take because of the continual spray. The camera was on a tripod with an umbrella protecting it from most of the mist and when the mist cleared I took off the lens cap wiped the lens and took a shot.

Your patience paid off Peter and the rainbow above the rock formation is a real plus. Great capture and enjoyed your galley as well. Take me on your trips.

Nice capture in tough circumstances, Peter. On my screen, the image needs a bit of brightness and a shot of contrast.

Thanks Steve. This was scanned from a print. It looks fine to me on 2 completely different monitors and pretty much what the print was like. If I boosted the contrast any more it would look really strange. I wonder whether you have calibrated your monitor.

A brand new, calibrated iMac, Peter. Perhaps it is mist in front of the dark areas that made me conclude that.

Well that should put calibration as an issue to rest Steve. Could be the mist as there was a lot of it.
