My partner Starr found a huge crow's
feather at the foot of the tree.
We were alone in a remote part of the
Arches Park. She's part Apache and
she has a sixth sense about things.
"you have to take pictures of this",
she demanded, and we both photographed
the tree and the arch behind it.
The sun was setting. Later, I did
a ten minute exposure of the
sky, after dragging my telescope from
the car. The scope has a motor and
is the only way to make sky shots
that don't streak. I shoot at f2.8 and
track the scope with a red cross hair. When we got home
I simply put the shots together. "Simply" Well....it took
me about four hours to layer mask and
detail the tree and the sky behind it.

This is the most response I've ever had
to one of my photos. If you have a chance, look at the version on my site. I like the colors a lot better.
sometimes you can't predict how
an upload will turn out.
