These Cape Buffalo gave me the stare down in Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. The animal's heads reminded me of a football palyer's helmet; their stance similar to a football team's front line. Get to close to their "space", that is where the offensive comes into play. Luckily, I didn't find out. This image was the result of 3 individual exposures. Originally, I had narrowed my focus to the faces of the central grouping. As the buffalo were remaining motionless, I captured a series of images, hoping to merge all of the fantastic expressions. Bean bag suppport, Canon 100-400 IS, ISO 200, f6.3.

Outstanding capture, Harry! These guys have a rep for being mean. I hope you had some protection in case they charged. Great job capturing the images and assembling them!

Thanks Mike- Plenty of protection- I think- inside a land rover. From stories guides told us, that may not be enough, as they have been known to push over land rovers that got to close. The guides were very strict about staying in the vehicle around wildlife and not challenging their comfort zone. A good thing for all of us!
