Positives: Wow! This is a striking image and I love the angle of the rose and balance of negative space--even the balance in the quality of the shadows. The NS is interesting because each of the four corners is different, and it frames the subject. I love the shading and contrast caused by the light coming from the right. There is a diagonal of light that moves from the lower left to the upper right, but the light is not allowed to leave the frame due to the black corner. -- No ambiguity about the subject. -- Beautiful, warm color.
Negatives: If you used a tripod, I'm having my eyes examined and get my monitor checked! I want a tiny bit more focus (unless you intended a soft look, in which case, it should have been softer.)
Improvements: I see a little bit of lightness on the lower left area of the frame. That's an easy fix in Photoshop. Also, I really like the very light edge on the furthest right petal, and I wonder if that brightness can be brought up in some of the edges of other petals. I think that would improve the overall look, but I'm not complaining. I love this photo!
